Background

Don is a native of Illinois, who now makes his home in Lincoln, NE.

His passion for music began as a youngster in Lebanon, IL, and has continued throughout his life, with few interruptions.

As a listener, his musical tastes run the gamut from chamber music to rock. As a player, his usual styles include an eclectic mix of Bluegrass, Country, Celtic, Tin Pan Alley, Gospel, and down home back porch pickin'.

A multi-instrumentalist, for the last 35 years he's played with Illinois bands such as the popular Buckeye Creek, and still plays with Illinois based group, The Light Stepping Boys, whenever he's not traveling as part of his "day job". He also plays at various venues in Lincoln, NE.

Don enjoys writing music, in addition to playing, and some of his compositions may be heard on the "Listen" page. In his spare time, he listens to Cardinal baseball, and enjoys vacations at the family cabin on the Sangamon River in Central Illinois.
